Frequently asked questions

10 jours, est-ce assez ?+
Pour la combinaison classique sud-ouest + centre + safari, oui — l'itinéraire couvre les essentiels (triangle culturel + Kandy + train Ella + safari Yala + plage Mirissa + Galle). Pour ajouter la __côte est__ (Trincomalee, Arugam Bay), passez à 14 jours minimum (saison opposée, complique logistique). Pour ajouter __Jaffna et le Nord__ (région tamoule), 21 jours nécessaires.
Quel budget ?+
Compter __1 600-2 200 €/personne__ tout compris : vol A/R Paris-Colombo escale (600-900 €), 9 nuits guesthouses/boutique-hôtels (350-600 €), chauffeur-guide privé 9 jours (450-700 €), repas (150-250 €), entrées sites + safari + baleines (200-300 €).
Quand visiter ?+
__Décembre à mars__ pour cette itinéraire sud-ouest + centre + safari. Saison sèche, mer calme à Mirissa, baleines bleues présentes, Sigiriya et Kandy en conditions parfaites. Évitez __mai-septembre__ (mousson sud-ouest, Mirissa impraticable) et __octobre-novembre__ (inter-mousson, pluies partout). Vacances de Noël/Nouvel An : prix x1,5-2, réservez 4-6 mois à l'avance.

Our verdict

This 10-day itinerary is Sri Lanka's essentials for a first visit — Cultural Triangle (Sigiriya, Kandy), tea country with the mythical Kandy-Ella train, Yala safari (leopards), Mirissa beach (blue whales), and UNESCO Galle Fort. Covers 4 UNESCO sites in comfort format. Proven formula by English-speaking operators (€1,600-2,200/person all-inclusive). Private chauffeur-guide essential (€60-90/day). Visit in December-March for best conditions. For a fuller stay, extend to 14 days with the east coast (Trincomalee, Arugam Bay surf) or deepen the Cultural Triangle (Polonnaruwa, Anuradhapura).
