1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device by a website. It allows information to be remembered (preferences, session state, audience statistics).
2. Cookies used by Mowando
Essential cookies (no consent required)
- mowando:currency — displayed currency preference (EUR / USD / GBP). Storage: localStorage. Duration: until manual deletion. No tracking.
- mowando:newsletter-dismissed — remembers that you closed the newsletter invite. Storage: localStorage. Duration: until manual deletion.
Analytics cookies (implicit consent — GA4 Consent Mode v2)
- _ga, _ga_XXXXXXX — Google Analytics 4, anonymous audience measurement. Duration: 13 months. Third party: Google.
No advertising or retargeting cookies are used.
3. How to refuse these cookies
Today, Mowando uses Google Consent Mode v2: analytics data is collected in a degraded mode as long as you have not explicitly consented (cookie banner coming). The data sent to Google is modelled and anonymised.
To actively refuse analytics cookies:
- Enable the "Do Not Track" option in your browser — Mowando respects it.
- Install a blocking extension (uBlock Origin, Ghostery, Privacy Badger).
- Configure your browser to block third-party cookies (Settings → Privacy → Third-party cookies: Block).
A cookie consent banner (Cookiebot or equivalent) will be integrated when traffic justifies this investment, and before any switch to a non-degraded collection mode.
