Petite-Terre is visited essentially between June and October, in the dry season. Temperatures 24-29°C, clear sky, Lac Dziani trail perfectly walkable, calm sea at Moya. It is also the best period to enjoy the sunset from Dzaoudzi Rock.
The rainy season (November to May) is not recommended: torrential rains making the Dziani trail muddy, suffocating humidity, cyclone risk. But it is also the turtle nesting season at Moya (November to March) — nocturnal observation supervised by RAEMA association, an exceptional experience for those who accept weather constraints.
The shoulder months of May and November offer a compromise: more stable weather, Lac Dziani still very green after the last rains, fewer people.
