Petite-Terre being tiny (11 km², 8 km long maximum), a car is not essential. Everything is done on foot or by collective taxi.
Useful distances (on foot / by taxi): Airport (Pamandzi) - Dzaoudzi 3 km (30 min on foot / 10 min by taxi €5-8); Airport - Lac Dziani 2 km (20 min on foot / 5 min by taxi €4-6); Airport - Moya beach 4 km (45 min on foot / 15 min by taxi €8-12).
Collective taxis (shared minibuses) are the economic local option: fixed routes along main axes, €2-5 by distance.
To reach Grande-Terre and Mamoudzou: ferry from Dzaoudzi port, 15-minute crossing, frequencies every 15-30 minutes during the day. Free on foot, €8-10 for vehicles.
For boat outings (M'Bouzi islet, S-pass, whale watching), several providers leave from Dzaoudzi port or Mamoudzou.
