Pointe des Châteaux (10 km east, 15 min by car) is the unmissable experience. Rocky cape battered by the Atlantic, eroded limestone cliffs, monumental cross (56 m). 360° view over La Désirade, Petite-Terre, Marie-Galante. Easy 30 min walk one-way from the free car park. Combine with Anse à la Gourde (golden beach) or Anse Tarare (naturist).
The catamaran excursion to Petite-Terre (from the marina, €90-120/person, full day) is the second must-do. Nature reserve, snorkelling in the crystalline lagoon (turtles, rays), observation of endemic iguanas on the islet. Booking 2-3 days in advance.
The Saint-François International Golf (Robert Trent Jones, 18 holes by the sea) welcomes amateurs and licensees. Green fees €70-130/person, booking 2-3 days in advance.
The beaches: Raisins Clairs (kitesurfing), Anse à la Gourde (calm), Petit-Havre (family lagoon), Anse Tarare (naturist).
The Saint-François marina (one of the largest in the Lesser Antilles) groups gourmet restaurants (Iguana Café, La Coloc, Le Métis), shops, catamaran departures. Night entertainment in peak season.
Kitesurfing: several certified schools at Raisins Clairs and Pointe des Châteaux, beginner courses €60-100. Perfect conditions year-round thanks to constant trade winds.
Diving: centres at the marina (Caraïbes Plongées, Plaisirs Plongée Caraïbes), trips to the coral reef (try-dive €60-80, exploration dive €50-70).
