Punta Cana

Itineraries — Punta Cana

Punta Cana and the East is the Dominican Republic's main tourist region and arguably the most iconic Caribbean all-inclusive destination. The country's eastern tip, washed by the Atlantic and the Caribbean Sea, concentrates over a 60 km coastline an ultra-developed tourism infrastructure: 250+ resorts, two international airports (PUJ and LRM), white sand beaches among the world's finest, and impeccable logistical organisation enabling a worry-free beach stay.

The region is organised around three complementary hubs with distinct personalities. Bávaro-Punta Cana is the historical backbone of Dominican tourism — 30 km of continuous beach, over 200 resorts, complete infrastructure. This is where most European, American and Canadian packages are sold. Cap Cana, just south, is the luxury exclusive enclave developed since the 2010s — Eden Roc Relais & Châteaux, Sanctuary Cap Cana, Hyatt Ziva, private marina, Jack Nicklaus golf course. The upscale option for an exclusive stay. Bayahibe, 1h15 south-west, is the alternative hub — preserved fishing village, only 15-20 resorts, ideal base for Saona Island (one of the world's most beautiful beaches) and Parque Nacional del Este (the Caribbean's largest terrestrial protected area).

The experience is consistent whichever hub you choose: organised airport transfers, decent to very good all-inclusive resorts, exceptional beaches, total safety, entertainment, included water sports, easily bookable excursions. It's the polished Caribbean formula, perfectly mastered. Most stays sell as packages (charter flight + transfer + 1-week resort) at €700-2,500 per person depending on season and category.
