Tartane and the Caravelle peninsula offer a diversity of activities that easily justifies a full day, or even two days for immersion.
The Château Dubuc trail (8 km loop, 3-4h, easy to moderate level, free except ruins visit) is the flagship experience. Departure from the Château Dubuc parking (signposted from Tartane village, free parking). The trail crosses all the ecosystems of the peninsula.
Visit of the Château Dubuc ruins (€4 adult, explanatory panels): former 18th-century sugar habitation. Plan 30-45 min visit.
Anse l'Étang beach: main beach at the entrance of the village, family and calm. Golden sand, calmer sea than the Surfers' beach, light infrastructure (lolos, free parking). Ideal for family swimming and beach lunch.
Surfers' beach (Anse Bonneville): 2 km east of the village, main surf spot of the Atlantic coast of Martinique. Lessons and rentals at the TAS school (Tartane Action Sports).
Sea outing: big game fishing from Tartane port, kayak or paddle outing in Galion bay.
Village tables d'hôtes: Le Bord de Mer, La Voile Verte, French Coco Restaurant.
Caravelle Point: eastern end of the peninsula, accessible only on foot from the Château Dubuc trail. Automatic lighthouse, exceptional panorama over the Atlantic.
