The signature experiences structure the trip. Sunrise boat ride (5:30-7:30 am) is the absolute experience — embark from Assi Ghat or Dashashwamedh, silently glide along ghats, observe pilgrims in ritual bath, morning ceremonies, bodies burning at Manikarnika in golden light. Negotiated fare: rowing boat 200-500 INR/hour.
Evening Ganga Aarti ceremony (6:30-7:30 pm) at Dashashwamedh Ghat: 7 synchronised priests perform 45 min elaborate ceremony.
Cremations at Manikarnika: imperative ethical approach. Observation from boat emotionally more bearable.
The old quarter on foot — half-day essential. From Dashashwamedh Ghat: Vishwanath Galli, surroundings of Kashi Vishwanath Temple, banarasi sari weaving workshops, street food. Markets: Vishwanath Lane for saris, Thatheri Bazaar for copper.
Sarnath — half-day excursion. Archaeological museum (Ashoka Lion Capital), Dhamek Stupa, Chaukhandi Stupa, Mulagandhakuti monastery remains, Mulagandhakuti Vihara modern temple. 2h30-3h on site.
