Outer Reef day excursion (signature experience, departure from Reef Fleet Terminal at 8am): 2h by fast catamaran to outer reef sites (Norman Reef, Hastings Reef, Saxon Reef, Michaelmas Cay), 4-5h on site with 2-3 snorkelling/diving sites, buffet lunch on board, 5pm return. Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation (day excursion AUD 150-250/person, 7am-6pm departure): Daintree River crossing by ferry, Mossman Gorge canopy hike with Aboriginal Kuku Yalanji guide, Cape Tribulation beach (where James Cook ran aground in 1770 — hence the 'Tribulation' name), possible observation of cassowary (giant flightless bird, dinosaur relative).
