The balloon flight is the main activity, but the complete experience integrates several moments to anticipate.
Preparation the day before — booking confirmed with your company. Multiple layers mandatory (temperature drops 5-10°C at 500 m altitude). Closed shoes (landing sometimes on rocky ground). Smartphone or camera charged. Wrist strap to avoid falling. Early sleep (9-10pm max) — wake at 3:45am.
Wake-up and transfer (3:45-4:30am) — your cave hotel receives flight confirmation around 3:45am (based on the latest wind measurements). If flight confirmed, minibus transfer at 4-4:30am to the hangar. If flight cancelled, back to bed with postponement or refund confirmation.
Hangar and briefing (4:30-5am) — light breakfast (coffee, tea, biscuits, dried fruit). Pilot safety briefing (10 min): landing positions (knees bent, hands on handles, do not exit before pilot's signal), cold management, photo and video.
Take-off and flight (5-6am for 1h-1h15) — boarding by compartments of 4-5 persons in the basket (18-20 persons total for a standard flight). Take-off at precise dawn — a few magical seconds where the turquoise horizon progressively brightens. Progressive ascent to 50-100 m, then cruise at 200-400 m depending on winds. The pilot can descend to 30 m to brush the fairy chimneys in the valleys, then climb back to 500-600 m for the complete panoramic view. Spectacle of 100-200 multicoloured balloons around you in the golden sunrise light.
Landing and celebration (6-6:30am) — landing at a point identified by the ground team (4x4 following the balloon). Champagne celebration ceremony (1 glass offered), presentation of a personalised flight diploma, group photos with the pilot and balloon.
Return and breakfast (7-8am) — minibus transfer to your cave hotel. Hearty breakfast on your hotel terrace (Sultan Cave Suites, Mithra Cave Hotel terraces, etc.) — you can still observe the last balloons on the horizon.
Optional add-ons: professional video of the flight (€50-80 supplement, recommended for honeymoon couples), luxury or private flight for 4-8 persons (€250-350/person, more intimate basket, priority flight), exclusive VIP flight for 2 persons (€600-900/person, 1h30, premium champagne, romantic experience).
