Budget — Þingvellir

Þingvellir is one of the most affordable sites in Iceland for the experience it offers.

Park access: free (trails, viewpoints, visitor centre, church). Paid car parks: P1 main ISK 1,000 / €6.50, P2 north ISK 1,000 / €6.50, P5 lake ISK 750 / €5. The ticket is valid all day and on all car parks.

Silfra snorkelling: €130-150 with Dive.is, €130-160 with Arctic Adventures, €140-180 with Iceland ProDive. Includes equipment, supervision, internal park transport.

Silfra scuba diving: €180-250 with the same operators (minimum PADI Open Water certification required + 10 cold-water dives or prior trial dive).

On-site dining: visitor centre cafeteria €15-25/person (sandwiches, soup, drinks), no restaurant in the park. Picnic recommended (purchases at Bonus supermarket in Selfoss before arrival).

Lodging: no hotel in the park. Closest: Hotel Borealis (15 min east, mid-range €180-260/night), ION Adventure Hotel (20 min, design €350-500/night, lava and glacier view), Hotel Geysir (45 min, €200-280/night).

Transport: hire car essential (45 min from Reykjavik, Route 36 paved year-round). Organised tours from Reykjavik: €80-130/person for complete Golden Circle including Þingvellir, Geysir, Gullfoss.

Realistic total budget for a visit: €10-20 (parking + cafeteria) without Silfra, €150-200 with Silfra snorkelling.
