Hurghada is one of the world's most affordable beach destinations for the comfort level offered. A budget of €65 per person per day in a 4-star all-inclusive hotel is a good reference for a typical week, but you can easily drop to €40 (low-cost 3-star all-inclusive) or climb to €150-200 (luxury 5-star or El Gouna).
Accommodation covers every band. A bed in a well-rated 3-star all-inclusive runs €35-55 per person per night in week-long package format from Europe (flight + hotel + transfers + full board). A 4-star all-inclusive like Steigenberger Aldau, Pickalbatros Aqua Vista, Sunrise or Hotelux: €55-90 per person per night. An upscale 5-star (Steigenberger Al Dau Beach, Sheraton Soma Bay, Royal Brayka): €100-180 per person per night. At El Gouna: €90-250 per person per night depending on hotel and season. Diving live-aboards (7-night cruise to the Brothers Islands or the south): €800-1,800 per person all inclusive.
Diving activities add up. Introductory dive (open water beginner): €50-80. Giftun snorkeling day: €30-50. 2-dive boat day: €70-110 gear and lunch included. PADI Open Water course: €350-500. Snorkeling gear rental at hotel: €5-15/day.
Excursions are a separate budget line. Luxor day excursion: €60-110 by bus, more than €250 by domestic flight (overnight in Luxor recommended). Quad and desert: €40-70. 4WD safari: €50-90. Half-day catamaran cruise: €30-60. Hotel spa massage: €40-100.
Off-hotel meals (rarely needed in all-inclusive) cost €10-25 per person at a city centre restaurant, €20-50 at an upscale El Gouna restaurant. A beer costs €3-6 in a bar.
Transport is cheap: taxi between Hurghada hotels €5-12, taxi to El Gouna €25-35, free shuttle offered by some resorts to Mamsha. Car rental: €25-40/day.
