Gullfoss is one of the most affordable sites in Iceland.

Site access: free (parking, trails, viewpoints, visitor centre, exhibition). No ticket to pay.

On-site dining: Gullfoss Kaffi cafeteria serves sandwiches (€12-18), traditional Icelandic soup (kjötsúpa, €16-20), hot dishes (€18-25), drinks (€4-8). Average quality, tourist prices. For better value: Hotel Geysir Restaurant (10 min west, €25-40/person, view over geothermal area) or Friðheimar farm (30 min south, cult tomato lunch in geothermal greenhouses, €30-35/person, booking recommended at friðheimar.is).

Lodging nearby: Hotel Gullfoss (5 min west, mid-range €220-280/night), Hotel Geysir (10 min west, €200-260/night), Efstidalur II Guesthouse (30 min, dairy farm, €130-180/night), ION Adventure Hotel (1 h toward Þingvellir, design €350-500/night).
